Aspida launches eBike Incentive Scheme: Promoting Sustainable Commuting

In an effort to promote sustainable commuting and reduce our carbon footprint, we are thrilled to announce the introduction of our eBike Incentive Scheme. This initiative aims to encourage our employees to embrace eco-friendly transportation options by providing an interest free loan repayment for the purchase of their chosen eBike. We explain the reasons behind this decision and the benefits it brings to both our organisation and the environment.

1. Environmental Impact:
One of the primary motivations behind implementing the eBike Incentive Scheme is to reduce our environmental impact. Traditional commuting methods, such as cars or public transportation, contribute significantly to air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. By encouraging employees to switch to eBikes, we can collectively reduce carbon emissions and improve air quality in our communities.

2. Health and Well-being:
Commuting by eBike offers numerous health benefits. Regular physical activity, even in the form of a daily commute, can improve cardiovascular health, boost mental well-being, and increase overall fitness levels. By incentivising eBike usage, we aim to promote a healthier lifestyle among our employees, leading to increased productivity and reduced healthcare costs.

eBikes provide a cost-effective alternative to traditional commuting methods. With rising fuel prices, employees can save a significant amount of money by opting for eBikes. Additionally, the maintenance costs of eBikes are considerably lower compared to cars or motorcycles. By introducing our eBike Incentive Scheme, we aim to help our employees save money while encouraging sustainable transportation choices.

4. Reduced Traffic Congestion:
Traffic congestion is a common issue, leading to wasted time, increased stress levels, and decreased productivity. By promoting eBike usage, we can help alleviate traffic congestion and create a smoother flow of traffic. Kevin Gilligan, Head of Aspida Advisory Services adds, ‘By initially providing an eBike for employees to utilise for meetings, lunch breaks and encouraging staff to try it over their weekends, we quickly realised that we required a second eBike to cater to demand.  As they proved so popular and following staff feedback, we decided to make the purchase of an eBike more manageable to our colleagues so they can own their own by offering this interest free loan incentive scheme.  Some have already chosen and collected their eBikes and have begun their alternative commuting method (including myself), making a difference to the town traffic congestion and the environment.”
