Guernsey has implemented new tax legislation to meet the EU economic substance requirements in the form of “The Income Tax (Substance Requirements) (Implementation) Regulations, 2018” (Substance Regulations), which came into force on 1 January 2019.
The Financial Crime Risk Return (“the Return”) for the reporting period 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020 will be available for completion on the Online Submissions Portal in July 2020. The submission deadline is 31 October 2020. All firms required to complete the Return should consult the following documents before submission: Financial Crime Risk

After the COVID-19 outbreak, and the accompanying damage to the global economy, there are already predictions that harsher tax regimes will be introduced to help plug fiscal holes caused by the crisis (see article from FT Adviser below).
Changes have been made to both the portal and forms. Main changes to note include; OS & PQ Portals can now be linked for Single-Sign-On; & New accounts will be now be required to agree to the Terms & Conditions when registering.
